About Us

A San Diego Native, I started my firm in 1979 with the simple idea of helping families grow their businesses. The core tenet of my practice is to provide value through informed, pragmatic, and responsive service. Doing business today, maintaining and managing wealth, preparing financially for tomorrow are challenges we all face today. Working collaboratively with an experienced CPA that understands business and the business owner's point of view, in my experience, generally results in a better outcome. Decisions require an understanding of variables that contribute to achieving the desired result as well as the elements of risk and related probability. My goal is to help my clients achieve their goals. Asking the tough questions, having the difficult conversation, providing risk based advice while understanding your family values, allows me to contribute positively to solutions that serve you well.

We typically assist clients with tax issues associated with:

  1. The purchase and sale of businesses and real estate
  2. Selecting and capitalizing business entities such as corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships
  3. Multi generational tax planning among clients, family members and their closely held business or investment interests
  4. Business and tax advice relative to pending business or financial decisions
  5. Tax controversy issues
  6. Tax return preparation and related planning

An integral component of our process for helping clients is the strategic relationship we have with our clients attorneys, bankers, insurance representatives and other business and real estate professionals. We regularly collaborate with our clients counsel, for example, with respect to the implementation of wealth management, tax saving or business operational strategies.
